Inositol dosage: how much to take and when
Inositol dosage: how much to take and when?
The amount used most often in studies is 4000 mg of myo-inositol together with 100 mg of D-chiro-inositol per day. That's a daily amount of around 4 grams – one serving of Ovatisol.
One serving a day
Ovatisol delivers the full daily amount in one level scoop, ideally in the morning. If you'd rather split it, take half a scoop in the morning and half in the evening – inositol is excreted relatively quickly, and two smaller doses keep your levels a little steadier.
When to take it?
It's often described as being taken on an empty stomach or about 30 minutes before a meal. That's not a must – more important than the exact timing is that you take it regularly over months.
How to take it?
As a powder in a glass of water or juice. Inositol dissolves clear and tastes slightly sweet, so it's pleasant to drink even without any sweetener.
Why the amount matters for the form you choose
Four grams is a lot for a dietary supplement. In capsule form, that's six to eight capsules a day depending on the product. As a powder, it's one scoop a day.
